Chinita's Fair project

Hello, dear readers!
This time, I will tell you everything about our last assignment for the english class.

So, we had this group project assigned, the objective was to create a campaign for the Chinita's Fair, and uploaded in Second Life to create a virtual exhibition along with the other groups of the class.

A little background on the Chinita's fair: It's celebrated on November 18th and it celebrates the day of our patron virgin our ''Lady Rosary of Chiquinquira'' It's probably the biggest celebration in Maracaibo (my hometown) The habitants of Maracaibo have many different ways to celebrate it, some people travel, some people go to the baseball game, some people likes to stay awake till the 19th morning, etc.

The first thing we did was to brainstorm and we came up with this logo: it has the shape of a sun, because Maracaibo and heat go by the hands. Maracaibo it's a very warm city, that's why we used a warm color palette, it's very simple and recognizable. We wanted to create a strong visual identity.

Next thing I did was to come up with this poster, on the background you can see a black and white picture of the ''Chinita's Church'' the basilica of Maracaibo. I decided to keep the warm colors and added a picture of a girl to symbolize it is a celebration were everyone can participate.

We also designed some P.O.P material (personally, I think this is really fun) 

Once again, we have warm colors to symbolize the weather and the ''Warmth of our people'' just as our slogan says. T-shirts, badges, little notebooks, and pens

Finally, we want to use this mind map to sum up what was our campaign all about. Just in case we were not clear enough.

I actually thought this was a very positive experience, not only we had to learn to build a stand in second life which can be very interesting because the possibilities are endless but we got to exercise team work and we also taught people about our culture.

This a picture of my avatar next to our stand in second life. I cant figure out why I'm still an egg. For some reason sometimes it shows my human figure and sometimes I'm just an egg. Oh well.
